Allocation Structures
At Isomorphic Topology, allocations can take different forms depending on the kind of support being made and where it is meant to go.
To keep the system flexible while maintaining a clear structure, IsTo works through three allocation types: General Allocation, Thematic Allocation, and Focused Allocation.
Each one moves through the same IsTo structure. The difference lies in how broad or specific the direction of support is.

General Allocation
A General Allocation provides broad support across a wider group of creatives, projects, or practices.
This is the most open form of allocation within the IsTo structure. It allows support to be directed where it is most needed or most aligned at a given moment.
People choose this option when they want to:
- Support the wider ecosystem
- Give IsTo flexibility in directing resources
- Back a broader range of creatives and cultural projects
Thematic Allocation
A Thematic Allocation directs support toward a particular field, discipline, or area of interest.
This might include film, fashion, music, publishing, design, or another specific creative context. It gives support a clearer direction while still allowing IsTo to determine where it can be placed most meaningfully within that theme.
People choose this option when they want to:
- Support a specific medium or cultural area
- Focus their support without narrowing it to one recipient
- Back a group of creatives or projects connected by a shared context
Focused Allocation
A Focused Allocation centers on a specific creative, project, or small selected group of creatives.
This is the most precise form of allocation within the IsTo structure. It is designed for donors who already have a clear focus and want their support directed with greater specificity, while still moving through IsTo’s framework.
People choose this option when they want to:
- Support a particular creative, project, or selected group
- Direct support with greater precision
- Keep the support within a clear and structured system
